Maintaining a positive attitude in this strange time can be a challenge. Begin by waking up in the morning and affirming "I need not be perfect today."
I must begin this piece with my personal confession. I voted not for a particular candidate, but rather to keep the right to vote alive. The outcome for me, was a bitter pill, and it took me a day, then a week, then two to melt from the shock. I may never fully melt. I wallowed inhopelessness before I pulled myself up by the bootstraps to come to terms with my feelings.
How do we choose to respond to the challenges of these times? The road ahead is uncertain. We have more questions than we have answers. What narrative do we wish to sustain? How do we thrive on a planet of limited resources whose signals of distress rise daily? Are we to grow our way past environmental, economic and social degradation?
